TTP claims responsibility of shooting down MI-17 Helicopter

GILGIT: Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have claimed the responsibility for downing a military helicopter and said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was their target, AFP reported.

According to Taliban spokesperson Muhammad Khorasani, “The helicopter was shot down by an anti-aircraft missile, killing pilots and many foreign ambassadors.”

Khorasani said that in Urdu language statement. Earlier, as many as six people including two pilots were killed in the crash landing of MI-17 Helicopter ISPR reported on Friday.

Two pilots died in the deadly crash of helicopter in the Naltar valley, Gilgit. Other thirteen person are also injured in an helicopter crash accident, which were taken to the local hospital for First Aid treatment.

Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz sharif, also visited the accident place and inspected the matter. The died person also include the ambassadors from Philippines and Norway, while wives of ambassadors of Indonesia and Malaysia also died in the incident.
