NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Monday interrogated former Union minister Shashi Tharoor in relation with his wife’s death. The questioning took place a year after Tharoor’s wife, Sunanda Pushkar, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Delhi’s Leela hotel.
Since her death is a declared case of murder by the police, the special investigation team (SIT) confronted Tharoor with a questionnaire comprising 10-15 questions.
The questioning took place hours after police chief B S Bassi finally accepted that they would quiz Tharoor “within two days”. The Congress MP was served notice last week.
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor reportedly met a team of lawyers at his residence earlier on Monday to strategize on possible replies to be given to the Delhi Police.
