Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas completed his undergraduate education from Forman Christian College, Lahore, in 1989. He then went on to finish graduate education from Punjab University in 1992 with a major in mass communication. He began his journalistic career in 1992 as a reporter with an Urdu newspaper, Khabrain, in Islamabad. He joined Din newspaper as a reporter in 1997, but left it to work for Ausaf, another Urdu-language daily, in 2001. Later, Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas joined Express newspaper as Senior Correspondent, Islamabad. He also proved his mettle as an equally successful broadcast journalist, by launching his own talk show along with Nusrat Javeed, Bolta Pakistan, which did exceptionally well.
As a senior representative of the journalistic fraternity, he has held a number of key positions. He has been a valuable member of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists since 2009. In recognition of his sterling journalistic achievements, he has won numerous awards and appreciation letters, including Best Reporter Award for his Earthquake Coverage in 2005 awarded by the Government of Pakistan. A noted journalist of both print and electronic media, Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas is recognized among his colleagues and fellow journalists as a straightforward, hard-working and highly committed professional.
